This office provides immigration and visa services to clients in United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

It also processes partner and family migration applications from Afghani nationals resident in Afghanistan or Pakistan.

We have an agreement with our Service Delivery Partner to provide Australian visa lodgement services. We refer to them as our Australian Visa Application Centres.

You can lodge your application in person at one of the Australian Visa Application Centres. The Australian Visa Application Centre charges a fee with each application lodged.

Visa applications may be lodged at the Australian Visa Application Centre. For methods of payment accepted at the Australian Visa Application Centre GCC.

Demand Bank Draft

Demand bank drafts drawn on a UAE bank only (and in AED) should be made payable to 'Australian Consulate-General Austrade – official public account'. Only Demand Drafts issued with MICR codes will be accepted.

Credit Card​

Payments using credit card will be processed in Australian dollars (AUD). We accept MasterCard, Visa, AMEX, Diners and JCB. When paying by a credit card you may incur a credit card surcharge, banking and currency conversion fees and you will need to accept the risk associated with any currency fluctuations.​​​​​

Prior to lodging your application, you may need to notify your bank of an upcoming foreign credit card transaction. Failure to do so may result in your transaction being declined. Without payment your application is invalid.

Credit card transactions processed in Australian dollars (AUD) are processed in Australia.​​​​​ A credit card surcharge may apply to transactions made using your credit card.

​Making payment in Australia

Fees may be paid​ at any of our offi​ces in Australia. Once the fee has been paid, you will need to provide a copy of the receipt with your application.​​​

Payment for Partner visa and Citizenship by descent applications

When lodging a Partner visa and Citizenship by descent applications at VFS Global, two payment options are available:

  1. Payment by credit card, the details must be provided in the application form.
    or
  2. Attach evidence to the application form that the VAC has been paid in Australia.

VFS Global will not accept any other payment method for Partner visa applications and Citizenship by descent applications.

Biometrics

Regardless of your nationality, if you are lodging a paper-based visa applications in the United Arab Emirates, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries and Yemen you will be required to attend an AVAC in person to lodge your application and provide your biometrics. A 10 digit fingerprint scan and a facial photograph will be collected.​ ​

Citizenship

Applications for Citizenship by Descent can be lodged at this office or at any of the Australian Visa Application Centres in the UAE or the GCC, excluding Australian Visa Application Centres in Saudi Arabia.​

Applications for Australian citizenship general eligibility and other situations, and applications to resume or renounce (give up) Australian citizenship should be lodged at the Canberra office in Australian Capital Territory​.

Relevant document: ‘No Previous Conviction Certificate’.
Residents (citizens and non-citizens): Apply in person to Police General Headquarters or to Police Quarters in your area of residence.
Provide: Saudi Identity Card, a copy of your current passport plus two passport size photos, a letter from the Australian Embassy in Riyadh, and fingerprints (which can be taken by local police).
Processing time: approximately two weeks or more for citizens and six months for non-citizens.
Fee: payable.
Obtaining the letter from the Department
If you have lodged a migration application, the Department office will give you a letter requesting health and character checks. You will need to present a copy of this letter to the Australian Embassy in Riyadh along with a copy of current passport and valid Iqama.
The Australian Embassy will then issue a letter addressed to the Saudi Authorities to assist you in obtaining a police clearance. You take this letter with the other documents required and lodge your application for the police certificate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who will authenticate the letter.
The letter will then need to be taken to Police Headquarters and fingerprints samples taken. Providing you have a copy of the letter from Department letter requesting health and character checks, you do not need to pay a fee for the letter from the Australian Embassy.
Saudi citizens living in Australia

Non-Saudi citizens
Currently non-Saudi citizens are unable to obtain a police certificate from Saudi Arabia. However, you will need to provide the Department with a copy of your final exit document, and, if you were employed while in Saudi Arabia, a letter from your previous employer.
