There is no Australian diplomatic mission in Syria. The Department's office in Amman, Jordan, manages visa and citizenship services for clients in Syria.

Visa applications should no longer be sent to our embassy unless you are from Syria or Iraq. If you are from Syria or Iraq you will need to post or courier your application to our embassy.

Additional information

The Department currently does not require visa applicants to provide a police check from the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Syrian Embassies. Syrian citizens and applicants who have spent more than 12 months residing in Syria will be required to provide a statutory declaration (41KB PDF) to attest to their good character.​
