We have two offices in Vietnam. The office in Hanoi manages visa services for clients in Vietnam. The office in Ho Chi Minh City manages visa and citizenship services for clients in Vietnam and Laos (permanent entry visa services only). Both offices have a Service Delivery Partner agreement with VFS Global to provide Australian visa lodgement and biometric collection services in Vietnam through Australian Visa Application Centres.

  • pre-lodgement enquiries
  • visa application lodgement
  • application tracking
  • return of decisions/passports.

The SDP will charge a fee for this service in addition to the visa application charge.

Biometrics collection

 
Biometrics are collected from visa applicants in this location from 27 July 2015. Visa applicants who lodge their applications at the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC), will be asked to provide their biometrics at the same time.

Visa applicants who post their applications to the Australian visa office or to the AVAC, will be sent a letter requiring them to attend the AVAC, in person, to provide their biometrics.

Some applicants lodging their visas online might be sent a letter informing them that they need to attend the AVAC in person to provide their biometrics.​​​​​

Exception: Visa applicants travelling on official government business are encouraged to lodge their applications at the Australian Embassy; Hanoi.

Payments using credit card will be processed in Australian dollars (AUD). We accept MasterCard, Visa, AMEX, Diners and JCB. When paying by a credit card you may incur a credit card surcharge, banking and currency conversion fees and you will need to accept the risk associated with any currency fluctuations.​​​​​

Prior to lodging your application, you may need to notify your bank of an upcoming foreign credit card transaction. Failure to do so may result in your transaction being declined. Without payment your application is invalid.

Credit card transactions processed in Australian dollars (AUD) are processed in Australia.​​​​​ A credit card surcharge may apply to transactions made using your credit card.

For credit card payments use the Payment Details Form - 1440​.​​​​​

Cash

Cash payment is accepted.

Vietnamese citizens and residents: Apply in person at the Service of Justice office in your local province or the province in which you most recently lived.
If you are not living in Vietnam, you must provide a Power of Attorney that is certified by a Vietnamese diplomatic mission in your country of residence.
Vietnamese citizens and residents provide: A copy of your Vietnamese National Identity Card and your Household Registration Book.
All applicants must complete a standard application form (Ðon yêu cầu cấp phiếu lý lịch tu pháp) provided by the Service of Justice free of charge. The application must be completed fully, clearly and accurately.
Non-Vietnamese citizens: Complete the standard application form and provide Power of Attorney to a relative or friend in Vietnam to apply for the certificate on your behalf. Otherwise, you can contact your nearest Vietnamese embassy for advice on how to obtain a certificate.
Non-Vietnamese citizens provide: A copy of your passport and permanent/temporary Vietnamese Residence Identity Card.
If you are not living in Vietnam, you must provide a Power of Attorney that is certified by the appropriate authorities in your home country and this must be verified/stamped by Vietnamese consular officials in accordance with the Vietnamese law and regulations.
