LEGENDcom can be accessed and used by people who need access to the most up to date Migration and Citizenship legislation and policy available.

It can also be used by legal practitioners who provide advice on Migration or Citizenship matters, or for undertaking research in migration.

If you do not have access to LEGENDcom you will need to logon to your ImmiAccount using the Logon To LEGENDcom, select 'Purchase' and complete the online subscription form.

If you want to join your organisation's existing subscription, logon to your ImmiAccount using the Logon To LEGENDcom. Select 'join' and enter the LEGENDcom Subscription Id that you wish to join.

If you do not have an ImmiAccount, you will need to create one.

Step 1: Select  'Logon to LEGENDcom'
Step 2: Select 'Create ImmiAccount'
Step 3: Under the 'required services' select 'LEGENDcom' and enter your details in the fields provided.

Subscription types and costs

LEGENDcom is an online product. The following table outlines the subscription types available and their cost. All subscriptions are for twelve months, payable in advance.

Prices are reviewed regularly and can change without notice.

Full This subscription is for customers who want to access the legislation, policy, and fillable forms. $800 plus $345 per secondary licence
Non profit Provides the same access as a full subscription, but at a reduced cost.

To be considered for a Non-profit type subscription, you must be a Non-profit organisation actively providing migration services. Organisations must show that:
  • your organisation operates in Australia solely on a non-commercial/Non-profit basis
  • they do not charge fees for providing migration assistance
  • the person providing migration assistance on behalf of the organisation is a registered Migration agent with the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (the Office of the MARA) or are in the process of being registered with the MARA as a non-commercial agent for the sole purpose of providing 'pro-bono' migration assistance to clients who would not otherwise have the option of accessing migration assistance.
Note: Non-profit subscriptions are for Non-profit organisations that actively provide migration services and not individuals.

Secondary licences cannot be purchased with this subscription.
Note: You should only select this subscription type if you are certain that no more than one user needs to access LEGENDcom at any one time.

Library This subscription is limited to libraries listed as a participating deposit library on the Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO) Website. This list includes State and Territory public libraries, the National Library and university libraries.

How many subscriptions do you need?

You require only one subscription per organisation. Each subscription includes a primary licence. More than one person can share a licence as long as they do not access the product at the same time. Secondary licences can be purchased if more than one person at a time needs access to LEGENDcom.

Exception: Limited subscription, which includes only a primary licence.

You need to decide the number of people within your organisation who require access to the product at any one time. This is the number of licences you need to purchase.
Example: If five users will need to access LEGENDcom at once, you need to purchase one subscription including a primary licence and four secondary licences.

Payment options

To purchase a subscription, you must either create an ImmiAccount or purchase a subscription through your existing ImmiAccount.

You can pay by:

  • Credit card when initially subscribing.
  • Cheque, money order, credit card or direct deposit once you receive your invoice.
  • Credit card by phone.
    Note: Contact the LEGENDcom Help Desk by phone and provide credit card details.

The preferred method is online payment.

Important: Payment arrangements for LEGENDcom require you to pay for twelve months access in advance. You cannot pay by instalments.

Accepted credit cards

You can pay for your LEGENDcom subscription using the following cards:

  • American Express
  • MasterCard
  • Visa
  • Visa Debit
  • Diners Club
  • JCB.

Online payment

Online payment gives you immediate access to LEGENDcom (unless you are applying for a Non-profit Organisation or Library subscription where you must wait for verification).

Other payment methods

Other payment methods will take considerably longer than online payments as some payment options take 10 working days to clear once received by us.

You will have access to LEGENDcom once you have been invoiced and your payment has been received and cleared.

Exception: Users who are renewing a subscription.

Credit card by phone

The credit card by phone option allows you to complete the online subscription without having to enter credit card details. If you select this option you will need to contact the LEGENDcom Help Desk and provide your credit card details over the phone.

This method gives you immediate access to LEGENDcom once credit card details have been provided.
Exception: Applying for a Non-profit Organisation or Library subscription where you must wait for verification.

Purchasing your subscription

Before subscribing to LEGENDcom, you should have decided which subscription type best suits your needs.

To subscribe to LEGENDcom using an existing ImmiAccount, follow the steps in the table below:

To subscribe to LEGENDcom by creating a new ImmiAccount, follow the steps in the table below:

8Enter the requested details in the subscription form including contact information, how many online licenses you want to purchase and whether you would like to pay online by credit card or offline.

Refunding your subscription

You can request a refund if you are not satisfied with the product. If we receive your request within 28 days of your subscription start date we will refund your subscription. Refund requests made later will be considered on a case by case basis. All refund requests must be made in writing (including email) to the LEGENDcom Help Desk.

Note: The refund will be made by cheque and will be issued to the person whose name appears on our records as having paid for the subscription.

When to renew your subscription

Four weeks before your LEGENDcom subscription expires, a renewal reminder notice will start to appear each time you logon to LEGENDcom.

If your subscription has not yet expired you are given the option to do one of the following:

  • renew now - takes you into the subscription service
  • go to LEGENDcom - takes you into the product.

Note: If you choose to 'renew now' your new subscription will start the day after your existing one expires. You will keep the same Logon ID and password.

If your subscription has expired you will need to renew it before you can access the product.

If the message, 'You do not have a current active account for LEGENDcom' appears when you attempt to access LEGENDcom, please contact the Help Desk to arrange access to your account so that you can renew your subscription.

How to renew your subscription

To renew your subscription to LEGENDcom follow the steps outlined in the table below:

1 Login to ImmiAccount then go to the LEGENDcom database.

When the renewal reminder notice opens, select 'renew now'.

2 Read the Terms and Conditions carefully and if you want to continue select 'I agree'. The details of your existing subscription will be displayed.
3 Update your contact details if required and select whether you want to purchase any additional online licences.
4 Select whether you would like to pay online by credit card or offline.
5 If you selected to pay online, enter your credit card details and click once on the 'submit' button.
Result: A receipt will be displayed. Please print this for your records.

If you selected to pay offline, click once on the 'submit' button to lodge your subscription.
Result: An acknowledgement will be displayed. Please print this for your records. Your access to LEGENDcom will continue uninterrupted. You will be sent a tax invoice and will then have 30 days to pay. Should you fail to pay within this period your LEGENDcom subscription might be suspended pending payment.
Note: Please do not send payment until you have been invoiced.
