What is a 'skilled occupation' for migration?
For most skilled migration visas, you will satisfy the 'skilled occupation' requirement if you have the skills and/or qualifications of an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List.
How is the Skilled Occupation List structured?
The Skilled Occupation List lists occupations alphabetically in accordance with their title in the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) dictionary.
For each occupation, the list shows:
- the ANZSCO code for the occupation
- the relevant assessing authority for the occupation
- the number of points for skill an occupation is awarded for the "skill" factor under the points test.
