Subsequent entrants applying from outside Australia

If you are applying from outside Australia as a subsequent entrant, you must provide evidence that you have a valid health insurance policy at the time you lodge your application and at the time we decide on the application. This health insurance cover may commence from the time you arrive in Australia. You must continue to be covered for the duration of your stay on this visa. If you are eligible for Medicare under a reciprocal health care agreement, but you cannot produce a Medicare card or receipt of enrolment with Medicare, you should take out adequate health insurance and then enrol with Medicare after you arrive in Australia.
