Employer documents

You must provide documents to support your application to nominate someone for this visa. We can make a decision using the information you provide when you lodge your application. It is in your interest to provide as much information as possible with your application.

You must provide certified copies of original documents. Do not include original documents unless we specifically ask for them. Documents not in English must be accompanied by accredited English translations.

You can use Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO for Organisations) to check the visa status and entitlements of people you have sponsored.

Upload scans of your documents when you lodge your application online. Do not send us physical copies of documents through the mail unless we ask you to send them.

Forms

Documents for all employer nominations

  • Employment contract for a full-time ongoing position indicating the base salary and the total remuneration terms and conditions of employment
  • If there are Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents performing equivalent work in the nominator’s workplace at the same location:
    • appropriate references to or copies of certified agreements
    • appropriate references to industrial awards
    • copies of relevant employment contracts, payslips or PAYG certificates
  • If there are no Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents performing equivalent work in your workplace at the same location:
    • appropriate references to or copies of certified agreements
    • appropriate references to industrial awards or Enterprise Agreements
    • appropriate references to or copies of remuneration surveys
    • similar job vacancy advertisements
    • appropriate references to the Australian Government’s Job Outlook
    • appropriate references to the Australian Bureau of Statistics Employee Earnings and Hours Survey
    • written advice from employer associations and unions
    • a statement detailing how the attached evidence was used to determine the terms and conditions of employment (including the salary package) being offered to the nominee
    • audited balance sheet (statement of position) for the most recently concluded fiscal year with comparative figures for previous fiscal year, and profit and loss statement (statement of performance) for the most recently concluded fiscal year with comparative figures for the previous fiscal year; or
      • business tax returns for the most recently concluded fiscal year and associated tax assessment notice; and
      • if the fiscal period to which the financial statements or tax returns submitted relate ended more than three months before the application was lodged – a business activity statement (BAS) for each complete quarter between the end of the fiscal period and the date of application lodgement
    • if you are a start-up business (a business that has been operating less than 12 months), you must provide:
      • business activity statements (BAS) for each complete quarter from commencement of operations to time of lodgement of the nomination; and
      • statements for the business bank account for the period from commencement of operations to time of lodgement of the nomination.
