Can I bring my child to Australia on a Visitor visa?

Visitor visas are available to people who intend to come to Australia for a genuine visit.

When deciding whether an applicant intends a genuine visit to Australia, decision makers must take into account relevant considerations such as the applicant's personal circumstances, incentive to return home, financial situation and ability to support themselves while in Australia.  The likelihood of an applicant seeking to remain in Australia is also a matter that must be assessed.  Visitor visas might be subject to certain conditions, including a no further stay condition, which would prevent the visa holder from applying for another visa to remain in Australia.

For more information on the entry requirements for children adopted overseas see Adoption visa (subclass 102).
